The upgrade of the Phantom 4
This new model from DJI is an upgrade of last year's Phantom 4. The biggest changes are made in the extra sensors that have been added, which will make you even less likely to fly against something. Furthermore, the camera has been upgraded. With the camera you can now shoot even more beautiful images and a number of new features have been added!
The Plus version: new:
DJI does not come with just one, but with two versions of the Phantom 4 Pro. You can choose between the Phantom 4 Pro and the Phantom 4 Pro+. The plus version has a razor-sharp screen on the controller, which allows you to watch with the drone. So you no longer need to connect your smartphone or tablet! Another advantage is that the monitor can be set so bright that it prevents interference from reflected sunlight.
More sensors: Fly nowhere against anything else: new:
Where the Phantom 4 was already well protected with front and bottom sensors, the new Phantom 4 Pro is equipped with sensors on 5 sides with automatic object detection. When you now start flying with your drone it is protected at the front, rear, side and bottom. It will stop automatically if you get too close to a wall, tree or any object. This upgrade also ensures that the drone can fly back to the place where it took off all on itself. Without collisions, of course!
4K Filming with 60 frames per second: new:
The other major update of DJI is in the camera. It is now equipped with a 1-inch sensor of 20 megapixels. The size of the sensor is important because it determines the dynamic range for the most part. A larger dynamic range means a better balance between dark and light. It is often the case that the images are less beautiful because there is not a good balance between the light air and the dark terrain below. Whereas the Phantom 4 was able to film with 30 frames per second, the Pro version is able to do so with 60fps, which results in smoother images.
Fly for 30 minutes on one battery: new:
Flying is fun, everyone agrees on that. However, the problem is often that you want to fly longer than the battery allows. DJI tries to extend the battery life every year and with this drone they have added a little extra to it; with one battery you can now fly for 30 minutes. If you can't wait until the battery is recharged, or if you want to fly longer anyway, you can even buy an additional battery for your drone.
Control the drone with your smartphone
This DJI drone can also be controlled with your smartphone thanks to the Tapfly function. Just press on the screen where you want to go and the drone flies there. You may not be able to see your smartphone's screen clearly due to the bright sunshine, but you can easily buy sun protection for your phone or tablet.
Different modes: choose speed or accuracy
The Phantom 4 Pro allows you to fly in different modes. For example, there is a Sport Mode, which allows the drone to fly at a speed of up to 72 km/h. That's fast! You can also choose a mode where the focus is on easy flying, smart navigation or quiet filming. You can easily adjust these settings in the DJI-Go app on your smartphone or tablet.
